Coinbase Wallet developers reported that users will no longer be able to trade or transfer NFTs through the iOS app because Apple has blocked the latest version of the wallet app.“You may have noticed that you can no longer send NFT on the Coinbase Wallet version of iOS. This is because Apple has blocked our latest version of the app until we disable this feature. Apple states that the gas required to send NFT must be paid for through their In-App Purchase system so they can get a 30% commission on that transaction,” Coinbase wrote. The company said that the In-App Purchase system does not support cryptocurrencies and even if it wanted to pay this fee, Coinbase would not be able to do so.MetaMask co-founder and former Apple employee Dan Finlay also commented on this situation, saying that it’s easier to simply ignore Apple’s ecosystem, as other wallet providers will soon face a similar problem.“I assume MetaMask and all the other wallets will be next. I’m ready to get rid of the Apple ecosystem. A 30% tax is an abuse of monopoly. Tim Cook has tried on the Big Brother screen,” he added.
