On January 21, Foxconn Chairman Liu Yangwei told local media on Wednesday that Foxconn will establish a plan to enter the Metaverse this year. The company plans to incorporate elements of the metaverse into its product designs, such as wearables, cloud, data centers, semiconductors, and micro-LED displays. Earlier this month, Foxconn's computer hardware subsidiary Ennoconn received a $39.8 million investment from Google, and the two companies plan to collaborate on more Metaverse projects in Taiwan. In November 2021, Foxconn organized an online virtual event where founder Terry Gou appeared as a virtual character to showcase Foxconn's ambitions in electric vehicles and the Metaverse.
