Huobi denied rumors of possible merger with Poloniex

Cryptocurrency exchange Huobi said that rumors of its merger with Poloniex are “categorically untrue.”Earlier, journalist Colin Wu reported that Huobi and Poloniex were planning to merge into one company. Later, Justin Sun, who is a member of both companies, noted that such a possibility is not ruled out in the future.Sun was part of the investor group that acquired Poloniex in 2019 and became an advisor to Huobi in 2022.“We would like to state for the record that rumors of an imminent merger between Huobi and Poloniex are categorically untrue. Huobi and Poloniex operate independently,” the company said.
