Researchers at JPMorgan, Toshiba and Ciena say they have built a quantum key distribution (QKD) network that can secure blockchain applications against quantum attacks. The QKD network is a secure two-way communication network that successfully achieves instant detection and protection against eavesdroppers. The researchers also studied the impact of real-world environmental factors on the quality of quantum channels and used QKD-secured optical channels to deploy and secure Liink, JPMorgan's production-grade peer-to-peer blockchain network.
