On February 10, McDonald's, the largest fast-food chain in the United States, recently filed a trademark application for a virtual restaurant based on the Metaverse, becoming the latest company to apply for trademark registration for virtual goods and services in the Metaverse world. Josh Gerben, a trademark attorney whose firm tracks new trademark applications every day, first tweeted Wednesday that McDonald's had filed 10 related applications. McDonald's filed the applications on February 4, which included "operating a virtual restaurant featuring real and virtual goods" and "operating an online virtual restaurant offering home delivery services."
