Congressman Patrick McHenry has been appointed Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee.“As chairman, I will stick with the innovation and opportunity agenda. We will focus our efforts on exercising appropriate and aggressive oversight of the Biden administration and implementing bipartisan legislation to return control of Americans’ personal financial data, expand capital accumulation opportunities, and develop a comprehensive regulatory framework for the digital asset ecosystem,” said McHenry.McHenry himself actively opposes the SEC’s actions in the digital asset marketplace. In his opinion, the SEC, led by Gary Gensler, is stifling innovation and motivating cryptocompanies to go abroad.
