PayBito cryptocurrency exchange suffers cyber attack, massive data information stolen

The Security Affairs website revealed that the LockBit ransomware gang claimed to have stolen a large amount of customer data from the PayBito cryptocurrency exchange. In this cyber attack, the ransomware gang successfully stole a database containing personal data information from around 100,000 customers around the world. In addition to this, the gang also stole some email data and password hashes, some of which can be easily decrypted. The gang also successfully stole personal data from administrators, claiming that the stolen data will be released on February 21, 2022, if no ransom is paid. PayBito is a cryptocurrency exchange operated by HashCash, a global blockchain and IT services company. The main cryptocurrencies include Bitcoin, Ethereum, HCX, Litecoin, etc.
