The Bitso trading platform has reached a cooperation with Brazil's Sao Paulo Football Club, which will support the club's fans to make encrypted payments

On Jan. 7, Mexican crypto exchange Bitso announced a partnership with Brazil’s Sao Paulo Football Club (SPFC), which will allow fans of the club to use cryptocurrencies to buy tickets and merchandise. Under the terms of the sponsorship, Bitso's logo will appear on the official jersey of São Paulo Football Club, said José Molina, vice president of Bitso's marketing department. Meanwhile, Bitso plans to support São Paulo club fans in purchasing tickets and merchandise via cryptocurrencies within 6 months. It is reported that Bitso operates in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, with a total of 3.7 million users, and the platform plans to become the largest crypto exchange in Brazil by 2022. In May 2021, Bitso completed a $250 million Series C round at a valuation of $2.2 billion, making it the first crypto unicorn in Latin America.
