On January 27, U.S. federal regulators will propose measures to significantly increase the supervision of private equity investment funds and some hedge funds. The SEC plans to issue a proposal Wednesday that would increase the amount and timing of private equity and hedge funds reporting confidential information to the agency in a document called Form PF. SEC Chairman Gensler said a major goal is to give regulators a better understanding of private fund operations and strategies to measure their impact on financial stability.
