US lawmakers propose bill to protect crypto self-hosted wallets from government agency restrictions

On February 16, U.S. Congressman Warren Davidson (R-OH) introduced new legislation to protect self-custody cryptocurrency wallets from government agencies. Specifically, the bill prohibits agency heads from restricting "the use of virtual currency or its equivalents for that user's own purposes, such as the purchase of real or virtual goods and services for the user's own use; or transactions through self-custody wallets."
