Belgian MPs get paid in Bitcoin

On January 27, Belgian MP Christophe De Beukelaer voluntarily received his salary in bitcoin, and his monthly salary of 5,500 euros will be automatically converted into bitcoin through the Belgian cryptocurrency exchange Bit4You.

Christophe De Beukelaer claims to be the first political representative in Europe to take this action, and his goal is to spark interest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in Belgium.

According to previous news, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has converted his biweekly salary to Bitcoin and Ethereum.
