According to foreign media reports, a new study by the crypto lending company BlockFi shows that cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and Ethereum will become the first choice for Americans to give gifts.

In October, BlockFi conducted an honest survey of more than 1,250 people: The Happy HOD Ldays survey found that nearly one in ten Americans would give cryptocurrency as a holiday gift to their relatives, and Bitcoin is the most popular among them. The popular crypto gifts are as high as 75%, followed by Dogecoin and Ethereum. On the other hand, the acceptance of NFT is not so high, only 2% of respondents are interested in receiving this gift.

In addition, according to the survey, cryptocurrency has become a hot topic on the family table, and one-third of the respondents prefer to talk about digital assets rather than politics during the holiday season. Compared with different generations, baby boomers prefer to talk about politics, but Gen Z and millennials will use cryptocurrency to have family conversations.

However, less than a quarter of the respondents know how to give cryptocurrency as a gift. Therefore, BlockFi founder and vice president of operations Flori Marquez believes that this means that cryptocurrency is becoming a hot topic, but further education is needed to benefit more people.

BlockFi asked the interviewees about their New Year's plans. One-third of millennials plan to buy cryptocurrency in 2022, while the proportion of investment in the older generation drops to 25%; about 15% of respondents said they plan to buy NFT in 2022; born after 1997 Gen Z prefers to buy Dogecoin over Ether.

At the same time, cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com also conducted a similar investigation in Australia, and a quarter of Australian users plan to buy cryptocurrency as gifts for their loved ones this Christmas.
