Ukrainian commercial bank PrivatBank has restricted local currency purchases of bitcoin

Ukraine’s largest commercial bank, PrivatBank, has temporarily restricted its customers from using the national currency hryvnia (UAH) to buy bitcoin, following an order from the central bank.

The restriction is related to the decision of the National Bank of Ukraine, which will be enforced during martial law. Binance’s Ukrainian arm advised its clients to use peer-to-peer (P2P) trading services, noting that other Ukrainian banks may make similar decisions at any time.
